PDL (Purpose driven Life) Ministry write ups for Creche Got Life? Get Ministry! Name of Ministry: Creche Contact Name: Chris Harley What is the purpose of your ministry? To give parents more freedom to enjoy and participate in family and communion services. To give the children an enjoyable time whilst being supervised by qualified helpers. What is involved for those wishing to be part of this ministry? A crèche worker has to have completed a Child Protection course (organised by the church's child protection co-ordinator, currently George Herbert). A crèche worker will be asked to follow child protection procedures. Two or three people supervise each group, one group for 0 - 2-½ years old and one group for 2-½ - 5 years old. A good selection of toys, games and books are provided. A record of those children attending must be kept.  How much of a time commitment is involved? On a rota basis approximately every 6 weeks for the duration of the service of the service - 1 hour for communion service and ½ hour for family service, plus 10 minutes before to set and 10 minutes after to clear up. When and where does the ministry take place? The group for 0 - 2-½ years old is held each Sunday morning in the coffee lounge. The group for 2-½ - 5 years old is held when there is a Sunday morning communion service in the garden room. Currently the family service is held every 1st and 3rd Sunday morning at 11am (due to change to weekly in September 2005). Currently the Sunday morning communion service is held every 2nd, 4th and 5th (if there is one) Sunday morning at 9.45am (due to be cancelled in September 2005).
