Training
I have arranged
two more child protection training sessions in November, one on the
16th and one on the 30th. Both start at 9am and finish at 1pm. All
youth and children's workers must have attended one of the past
sessions or one of these new ones. This includes all crèche
workers & helpers. You will receive a personnel invite if you
have not attended one before. Full details are on the training page.
Children's
Ministry (Kingsway) are having a training day for children's workers
on the 2nd in Cambridge. Full details can be found on their web site.
Let George know if you want to go by Wednesday 30th October. Should
be very good.

Child
Protection Policy
This is currently
under review by the Elders. When this is issued all leaders and
helpers will have to complete application forms and provide 2
references. I will then formally sit down with everyone and process
applications for everyone through disclosure (Criminal Records
Bureau). I have already been through the loop and it was quite painless.
In the meantime
could all groups check the organisational chart on the notice board
and let me have details of all who are extra to that list.

youth leaders breakfast
The next Youth
leader's breakfast at Trowse YMCA is on Saturday 9th November, 8.30am
to 10.30am. Can I encourage as many to attend this event.
Celebration
The next
Celebration is on Saturday 30th November. Please encourage the young
people who are arranging this event by praying for them and attending
this event. Details will on the notice board when I have them.
Prayer

24-7 Prayer
The young people
at Norwich Salvation Army Citadel are having a 24-7 week of prayer
from 22nd to 29th November 2002. We have been invited to join them.
More details when I have them.
By the way there
are no U:Nite events planned before Christmas, but we are considering
a concert in Feb.
YFC Linked church
We are now linked
with YFC. Bible class is now to be know as Detonate. Do we change all
the other youth groups in line with an explosive theme? I now have
the YFC Rock Solid 2 video and leaders pack available to review.
People should be receiving free copies of Youthwork each month. We
are due to receive a leader's manual shortly.

Speak to me for
further details and job descriptions. All roles will be for a trial
period of 3 months and then reviewed yearly.

I would like to
highlight the need for a main leader for Fridays. Age is not an issue!
Required for 2002/3:
New mid week
meeting for children - main leaders plus team, starting monthly to
become weekly over time, early evening, day not yet fixed. Possible
start of winter 2003.

Phatfish with
Cathy Burton are in concert at the UEA on Wednesday 13th November. A
group from the church are going.
